As we know from the report earlier today on Cricketbuzz, Iyer was given an important role in both the A matches for India A on the England tour and at the Oval. Jurel, who also played in the fifth test, and Manav Suthar have been made the vice-captains of Iyer. And players who have performed well in domestic cricket, like Harsh Dubey, have also found a place in the team. Ayush Badoni, who has performed brilliantly in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. And wicketkeeper batsman N. Jagdeesan, who made 197 runs against North Zone just a day before the semifinals of the same tournament, has also found a place in the team.
During this time, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj are not joining the squad for the Asia Cup. So they will be replaced by two other players for the second match against Australia A starting on 23 September, which will be part of the practice before the home test series against the West Indies starting on 2 October.
After two multi-day matches, now three-day matches will be played, which have been organized in Kanpur on 30 September, 3 October, and 5 October between India A and Australia A.
