The biggest news ahead of the IPL 2026 auction has arrived: the BCCI has released the final list of 350 players whose fate will be decided at the auction to be held in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. The event will take place at the Etihad Arena, and Indian fans will be able to watch it live from 2:30 PM and UAE 1:00 PM.
How many players, from which country?
Out of 1390 players who registered for the auction, only 350 got a chance. These are include:
- Indian players—240
- Foreign players—110
- Uncapped Indians—224
- Uncapped foreigners—14
There are 35 new names in the final list that were not included in the earlier document. This change makes the auction more interesting.
Most Surprising name: Quinton De Kock
The biggest discussion is about South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton De Kock. His name was not included in the initial register, but he was added later on special demand from a franchisee.
Recently, by scoring a century in the Visakhapatnam ODI against India, he showed that he still has the same old strength.
His base price is just Rs. 1 crore, which is half of the last mega auction when KKR bought him at a floor price of Rs. 2 crore. He was released by KKR after a poor season, but now he is back in the headlines.
Four New Faces of Sri Lanka
There are also several new Sri Lankan players in the list, who will add new energy to this auction. There are Travin Mathew, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perera, and Dunith Wella.
How will the auction proceed?
BCCI had divided the auction order in a very systematic manner. The capped players will be introduced first:
- Batter (BA1)
- All-rounder (AL1)
- Wicketkeeper/Batsman (WK1)
- Fast bowler (FA1)
- Spinner (SP1)
After this, it will be the turn of uncapped players in all categories.
There are many big names in the first set of batsmen in BA1. Like Cameron Green, Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sarfaraz Khan, Prithvi Shaw, and David Miller. And Venkatesh Iyer is included in Group AL1, which consists of all-rounders.
Fast processing time
The speed round of the auction will begin after player number 70. This is the name of Afghanistan’s Wahidullah Zadran.
Players from 71 to 350 will be offered at a fast pace, and then teams will be given the opportunity to re-offer their preferred options from the unsold players.
Which team has how much money?
The 10 franchises have a total buying power of Rs. 237.55 crore.
Highest purse:
- KKR – Rs 64.30 Crore
- CSK – 43.40 Crore
A total of 77 slots are up for grabs, 31 of which are for overseas players. The highest base price is Rs. 2 crore, and there are only two Indians in the category, whose names are Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi.
